→ Welcome message from the Co-Chairs
Our seventeenth meeting was held in Visegrád, Hungary at Thermal Hotel Visegrád during October 14th and 19th, 2018. In the Opening Session, a tributary presentation was given to the Honorary Chair of the symposium, Prof. Sandro de Silvestri. This was followed by the nine sessions covering the wide areas of rapidly growing interdisciplinary research fields of ultrafast intense laser science. On the second day, we visited the ELI-ALPS facility in Szeged for a laboratory tour, followed by the two sessions on ELI-related topics.
We enjoyed the presentations made by the discussion leaders and invited speakers as well as the stimulating discussions that followed all the presentations.
A total of 22 posters were presented during the poster sessions this year. In the Sponsors’ Sessions, presentations were given by six sponsor companies, Spectra-Physics/MKS Instruments, Amplitude, Thales, Fastlite, Japan Laser Corporation, and Coherent.
We believe the attendees enjoyed the scientific program as well as the relaxing and historic setting of Visegrád. On behalf of the international organizing committee, we thank again the invited participants, the attendees, and the sponsor companies and organizations for having made the symposium successful and enjoyable.
