The ISUILS7 was held at Kyoto Garden Palace, located at the center of Kyoto city, Japan during November 24th - 28th, 2008. After the opening session in which we paid tribute to Prof. Yuichi Fujimura, Honorary Chair, we enjoyed the discussion at the eight sessions.
In Sponsors' Session, we had presentations by the sponsor companies, Thales Laser, Amplitude Technologies, Fastlite, Femtolasers, Tokyo Instruments, Hamamatsu Photonics and Coherent at Sponsors' session.
On behalf of the international organizing committee, we thank all the invited participants and all the attendees for having made the symposium so enjoyable and successful.
On the evening of Nov. 27th (Thu.), we had an excursion to visit Sanju-Sangendo and Kiyomizu-dera. Both of them are designated as a historically significant temple. Indeed, Kiyomizu-dera was added to the list of UNESCO world heritage site in 1994. The scenery of the old city of Kyoto, covered with colorful autumn leaves, was really impressive and memorable.
