ISUILS Award for Young Researchers
The application deadline for the 7th ISUILS Award for Young Researchers has been extended to Friday, July 15.

The 7th ISUILS Award for Young Researchers

The ISUILS Award for Young Researchers is sponsored by Japan Intense Light Field Science Society (JILS), one of the official organizations supporting this symposium, and is available to encourage attendance of outstanding young researchers active in the field of intense laser science.

This is our seventh year of presenting the ISUILS Award for Young Researchers. This year, it will be awarded to three young researchers at ISUILS15. Each awardee will receive up to 100,000 JPY, which may be used for his/her travel and local staying expenses. The grant will be given to the awardees at the symposium site in Cassis, France in October this year.

Graduate (PhD) students, post-doctoral fellows, as well as young researchers in both temporary and permanent positions are eligible to apply. An applicant (other than a graduate student) must also be a researcher with not more than seven years of career after obtaining the doctor's degree to be eligible for the award.

To be eligible for the award, applicants are also required to:
  1. attend the symposium,
  2. give a poster presentation at the symposium,
  3. stay for the entire period of the meeting.
To apply, please submit the following documents by electronic files to ISUILS Secretary (mihoshiabe@chem.s.u-tokyo.ac.jp).
  1. Curriculum vitae, including your date of birth
  2. A list of publications
  3. A letter of recommendation written by the applicant's supervisor or a head of the group to which he/she belongs
  4. (for postdoc researchers) A certificate of the PhD diploma
Please specify in your submission that you are applying for the "ISUILS Award for Young Researchers." The closing date for application and receipt of the required documents is Friday, June 24, 2016Friday, July 15, 2016.

The awardees will be announced by the middle of July. They will be notified by e-mail and will be announced on the symposium website. Once they are selected, the awardees will be requested to submit their abstracts for the poster paper presentation through the symposium website no later than August 8, 2016.
